Yanwu was born in Huang Shan the year Mao died. She came to France a few years ago to study photography. She then started to question her own life, especially her childhood as she was living with her grand-parents in Shanghai, far away from her parents.
From old family photographs, she questions her own image and this Other that was herself. Later she investigates in images of her friends at school or her grandparents.
