Born in 1976 in Baku, Azerbaidjan
Lives and works in Baku and in Moscow
A graduate of the Azimzadeh State Art College (1993) and Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (1997) in Baku, received a degree in filmmaking from Baku International Film School (2010) and received also Moscow school of New Cinema (2013). Hasanov remains active in various genres such as visual and performance art, video and sound installations, as well as painting and drawing. Hasanov pioneered performance art in Azerbaijan and represented his country at the 52nd Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art (2007). Collaborates with “Yarat! Contemporary Art Space”, a not-for-profit organization since 2011.
