Born in 1971 in a city by the Yangtsé River, Yang Yi specially studied photography in Beijing for a duty of memory. He wanted to celebrate his native city and tell the drama that two millions people had to endure because of the Three Gorges Dam.
Called « Uprooted », the series makes present, past and future coexist with great accuracy.
