"Pencil virtuose", Pierre Mazingarbe makes of drawing the base of his cinema. Dense and fantastic drawings, teeming with scattered references that nurrished his early youth (Dürer, Bellmer, Fellini, Piranesi, Wes Andersen and medical iconography) to question what fascinates the artist : desire, feminism, earthiness and rawness of language.
In parallel with his animation studies, Pierre Mazingarbe launches himself into filmmaking. Obvious consequence of all his inspirations and thoughts, his latest short film, "What makes me take the train", produced by Le Fresnoy, was awarded by several prizes such as Prize StudioCollector 2013.
